Call for Artists
We invite artists everywhere and beyond to submit art for the Annual Halloween Art Exhibit. You don't have to live in the Chicago area to participate, display and promote your work with the HAE. The Call for Artists is ongoing after October; however, individual shows have limited space available, so don't wait!
Subject matter
All work submitted must be based on the theme of Halloween in historical or contemporary interpretation.
Media
All forms of art & craft will be considered for inclusion in the exhibit. Works must be no larger than four feet square ( For 2 dimensional works), and no larger than 2 feet square (For 3 dimensional work). 2-D works must be framed and wired appropriately for hanging prior to the show. 3-D works must be presented with an appropriate display pedestal or table. Work not properly ready for display will not be accepted.
Submission of Work
Artists who wish to participate in the Annual Halloween Art Exhibit (HAE) must submit their work for jurying prior to the exhibit in which they wish to show. Artwork should be thematically appropriate for the HALLOWEEN ART EXHIBIT, and must display a reasonable degree of skill and ability. All traditional media are acceptable; unusual art forms, art that requires a power supply, art that is large/heavy, or art that may present a risk to HAE attendees or staff will be considered and reviewed on a case-by-case basis. How to submit (By mail or online)
To submit by mail
- Download the Application: PDF form. Print a copy and fill out all designated fields

Send your images in the form of photographs, tear sheets, or a CD of your work.You can submit up to ten works.
Image files on CD should be no more than 8” x 10.5” in height or width, and no less than 150 dpi / no more than 300 dpi. GIF, JPG, TIF, PNG, PSD, PDF, or EPS files are acceptable.
Files on disk should be print ready for promotions and upload to the website gallery upon acceptance.
- Application Fee: Include your check or money order, for $65 payable to Scott Jackson

To submit online
- Attach images file to email application. Image files should be no more than 8” x 10.5” in height or width, and no less than 150 dpi and no more than 300 dpi. GIF, JPG, TIF, PNG, PSD, PDF, or EPS files are acceptable. Images may be sent in a ZIP or SIT file. Image files in this format are ready for printed promotions and website gallery upon acceptance.
- Download the Application (PDF form). Fill out all designated fields into the text body of an email. Send email with images attachment to: submissions@halloweenartexhibit.com
- Click SUBMIT button to pay the $65 application fee. PayPal accepts credit card or checking account payments.

Acceptance
Artists will be notified of acceptance within 10 days of submission. Please provide a daytime phone number and email address where you may be reached, as you will be informed of display & delivery hours at that time. Artist (or artist’s designated agent) will be responsible for assisting in the hanging of their work and removal of all work unless prior shipping arrangements have been made. Artist participation is requested for all events, when applicable. Receptions will be held depending upon individual events. The Exhibit reserves the right to refuse any artwork deemed inappropriate to the show theme or which is inadequately framed for display.
